Turning and turning in the widening gyre | The falcon cannot hear the falconer | Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold | Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world | The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere | The ceremony of innocence is drowned | The best lack all conviction, while the worst | Are full of passionate intensity. -- W.B.
As far as I can tell, nobody on St. Vincent has ever read the selection from Moreau's memoirs that I have put on the web as [http://1795.karleklund.net]. I can understand why schoolkids don't read it, because their exams are based on english colonial history and the memoire is franco-carib history. But why are the adults repelled by their own history?
