Checking on an author’s quotation from a dictionary defining the “cosmopolitan,” and running the term through a few online databases, I accidentally came across the word “cosmopolitan” as written in different languages. Somehow the result, part of which is shown below, superficially looks like the definition put into practice, and yet also seems to undermine the spirit of the worldly citizen rooted in routes. Apparently all of the following words “translate” into “cosmopolitan“:
многонациональный
svetovljanski
全世界的;世界性的
κοσμοπολίτικος
weltbürgerlich
įvairiatautis
전세계에 걸친
alþjóðlegur
国際的な
